“LOHAS@2030” Exhibition and Workshops
Public Event10:00 AM - 10:00 PM
週四, 十二月 1 2011 between 週二, 二月 14 2012
1. Nature / Objectives
How to adjust to a low-energy society is the ongoing challenge brought to us by Peak Oil. LOHAS@2030 exhibition shows why and how to start the transition to live well with less fossil fuel. Life will be different in 2030, but it could also be better.
2. Content
We have already reached Peak Oil, the point in time when global oil production has reached its peak. Thereafter demand will outstrip supply over the long term - it means that we will have ever declining amounts of oil available at ever higher prices with decreasing stability of supply. Our entire way of life in Hong Kong is reliant on fossil fuel – today’s ever-escalating cost of living is a wakeup call of Peak Oil. Transport is only the start, with knock on effects upon the food system, water supply, health care system…. and the list is endless. Instead of sleepwalking into disaster, the exhibition encourages everyone to start the transition collaboratively to live well with less fossil fuel.
